At Tasman Vets, we divide your pet’s dental treatment into two stages to prioritise safety and give you a clear treatment plan.

  • Stage 1: Scale, Polish & X-rays
We start by thoroughly cleaning your pet’s teeth—scaling away tartar and polishing the surfaces. X-rays are taken as needed to assess the teeth and roots below the gumline.
  • Stage 2: Extractions (if needed)
If any teeth need to be removed, we schedule a second procedure to perform the extractions safely and carefully.

After Stage 1, we’ll be able to give you:

  • A clear outline of which teeth need to be removed
  • An accurate quote for Stage 2
  • A clear, stress-free plan moving forward

Splitting the treatment means shorter anaesthetic times, which is safer for your pet. And don’t worry—you won’t be charged double for anaesthetic. The cost remains the same as if everything were done in one go.

We’ve simply structured it this way to keep things safer, clearer, and more manageable for both you and your pet.

We use modern diagnostic tools to help us reach accurate answers quickly, so we can get your pet the care they need without delay.

  • Digital X-rays
Perfect for identifying fractures, joint abnormalities, and a range of internal medical conditions.
  • Ultrasound
A gentle, non-invasive way to assess organs such as the liver, kidneys, bladder, and heart in real time.
  • In-House Laboratory
We can run blood work, urinalysis, and cytology on-site—helping us make informed decisions about your pet’s health, faster.

Saying goodbye is NEVER easy, and we are deeply committed to providing a kind, compassionate farewell for your beloved pet. Our dedicated room has been thoughtfully designed to offer a peaceful, private space where you can say goodbye with dignity and love.

  • Calm, gentle in-clinic experience
  • No time pressure—take all the time you need

At Tasman Vets, we’re proud to offer Puppy School to help give you and your four-legged family member the very best start together. Early training and socialisation are some of the most important investments you can make, helping to build a strong bond and set your puppy up for a happy, confident life.

Our Puppy School consists of four weekly classes, providing a fun, supportive, and safe environment where puppies can learn, play, and socialise during this important stage of development.

We welcome puppies between 8 and 18 weeks of age (depending on their size), ensuring they can make the most of this critical socialisation period.

Our classes are run by the wonderful Lizzie from Keen As Dog Training, whose positive, reward-based approach helps puppies and their owners develop confidence, good manners, and lifelong skills.

To register your puppy, simply give our friendly team a call on 03 528 4477, or book directly through the Keen As Dog Training website using the link below:
